Everything we take in forms us, music included. Much of what we listen to today is fun or catchy in the moment, but it isn’t building much in us. The music here has lasted for decades and centuries because it is good, and listening to it day after day shapes the soul.

The Greek scholé means leisure: time set free for things worth attending to. It is the root of the word school.

From kanōn, a measuring rod. Here it means a standard to measure by. This one grows by a recording each day.

Each morning one recording is added, chosen for the performers as well as the work. An AI model does the research to a fixed brief, and the notes on each track are its summary.

No work appears twice. Periods with fewer recordings come first. Performers and approaches vary from day to day. Recordings come from established labels, or are landmark historical recordings. No crossover or novelty arrangements. Anything that can’t be verified is left out rather than guessed.
